FunderPro $5,000 Challenge — Position Size Calculator

Quick Answer

With FunderPro's $5k account, your daily loss limit is $150 (3%). At 1% risk per trade, you're risking $50, meaning you can take 3 consecutive losses before hitting the limit. For EURUSD with a 30-pip stop, this translates to roughly 1.67 mini lots maximum position size.

Risk Guide
FunderPro's $5k challenge gives you a $150 daily loss buffer and $300 max drawdown limit. At 1% risk per trade ($50), you can survive exactly 3 consecutive losses before breaching the daily limit. At 2% risk ($100), you're dangerously close with just 1.5 losing trades possible. The math is unforgiving at this account size. For EURUSD trading, your position size calculation works like this: Risk Amount ÷ (Stop Loss in Pips × Pip Value). With a $50 risk (1%) and 30-pip stop, you get $50 ÷ (30 × $1) = 1.67 mini lots maximum. For Gold (XAUUSD) with a $10 stop, you could trade 0.5 standard lots ($50 ÷ $10 = 5 mini lots). US30 with a 50-point stop allows $50 ÷ $50 = $1 per point. The real danger scenario: taking a 2% loss ($100) early in the day leaves you only $50 away from the daily limit. One more standard trade gone wrong and you're done. This is why most successful traders stick to 0.5-1% risk on FunderPro's smaller accounts. Between challenge phases, your position sizing stays the same since the account balance remains $5k. However, Phase 2's 5% profit target ($250) means you need to be more conservative with the consistency rule - your best day can't exceed 40-45% of total profits. If you make $250, your best single day must stay under $100-112. The funded phase maintains the same $150 daily loss limit but removes the overall drawdown pressure. You can finally scale up gradually, but the 3% daily rule never changes. Smart traders often reduce to 0.75% risk to build a larger buffer, especially when trading news events or volatile sessions.
