FundedX $5,000 Challenge — Position Size Calculator
Quick Answer
FundedX's $5,000 account has a $150 daily loss limit (3% of balance). Risking 1% per trade means $50 at risk, while 2% equals $100. For EURUSD with a 30-pip stop loss, you'd trade 1.67 lots when risking 1% ($50 ÷ 30 pips = $1.67 per pip).

Risk Guide
With FundedX's $150 daily loss limit, you can handle exactly 3 losing trades at 1% risk ($50 each) or just 1.5 trades at 2% risk ($100 each) before hitting your limit. This makes 2% risk extremely dangerous - two consecutive losses and you're done for the day. The math is unforgiving: $100 + $100 = $200, which exceeds your $150 daily allowance.
For position sizing, calculate your dollar risk first, then convert to lot size. On EURUSD with a 50-pip stop: 1% risk = $50 ÷ 50 pips = $1 per pip = 1.0 lot. For Gold (XAUUSD) with a $20 stop: 1% risk = $50 ÷ $20 = 2.5 lots. The formula is always: Account Balance × Risk % ÷ Stop Loss in Dollars = Position Size.
The 4% max drawdown ($200) creates a secondary trap. While you might survive the daily loss limit, accumulated losses across multiple days cannot exceed $200 from your highest equity point. This means if you're down $180 total, you can only risk $20 more before breaching the max drawdown rule.
Unlike many prop firms, FundedX has no minimum trading days requirement, so you could theoretically hit the $250 profit target (5%) in a single day. However, with only $150 daily loss protection, aggressive trading becomes extremely risky. Smart traders stick to 0.5-1% risk per trade, allowing for 3-6 potential losing trades daily.
Once funded, these same rules apply permanently. There's no relaxation of risk limits, making consistent 1% risk management essential for long-term success. The $60 challenge cost means you need just 2.4% profit to break even on your investment, but proper risk management should be your primary focus, not speed.
