4-Week Strategy Framework
Week 1Foundation Building
Objective
Establish rhythm and protect capital. Target 2-3% profit while learning the platform dynamics. Remember, you need 10% total but have unlimited time - no rush.
Position Sizing
Risk maximum 1% per trade, never more than 2% combined exposure. With the 5% daily loss limit, you have room for multiple small losses, but one bad trade at 3-4% risk could cripple your challenge.
Mindset
You're gathering intelligence, not conquering markets. Every prop firm platform behaves slightly differently. Focus on execution quality over profit. The 10% max drawdown rule means you can only afford one really bad day.
If Ahead
If you hit 3%+ profit, reduce risk to 0.5% per trade. You're ahead of schedule - protect this advantage. Many traders get cocky here and blow accounts.
If Behind
If you're down 2-3%, STOP trading for the day. Assess what went wrong. You still have the full 10% drawdown buffer, but don't dig deeper holes when emotional.
Week 2Momentum Building
Objective
Target 4-6% cumulative profit. You should be comfortable with the platform now. Focus on your highest probability setups only - quality over quantity.
Position Sizing
Maintain 1% risk per trade, maximum 2.5% combined exposure. If you're already profitable from week 1, you have breathing room. Don't get greedy with position sizes.
Mindset
This is where discipline separates winners from losers. The unlimited time limit is your biggest advantage - use it. Don't let other traders' progress pressure you into overtrading.
If Ahead
If you're at 5-7% profit, consider taking a 2-3 day break. Seriously. Overtrading kills more profitable challenges than bad trades. You're already halfway to your 10% target.
If Behind
If still negative or flat, don't panic. You have unlimited time and 90%+ of your drawdown buffer left. Reduce risk to 0.75% per trade and focus on capital preservation while you find your rhythm.
Week 3Target Approach
Objective
Push toward 7-9% profit. You're in the final stretch for Phase 1. The 10% target is within reach, but this is where most traders make costly mistakes.
Position Sizing
If profitable: stick with 1% risk. If you're at 8%+ profit, reduce to 0.5% risk per trade. You're too close to the finish line to take unnecessary risks now.
Mindset
Patience over pressure. You need just 3 minimum trading days total - if you've been trading regularly, you've already met this. The finish line can make traders reckless. Don't be one of them.
If Ahead
If you hit 9%+ profit, trade micro positions or consider stopping. Getting from 9% to 10% isn't worth risking a 5% daily loss that could set you back weeks.
If Behind
If you're at 3-5% profit, maintain steady 1% risk. You need 5-7% more profit, which is absolutely achievable with unlimited time. Don't force trades to 'catch up' - there's no deadline pressure.
Week 4Challenge Completion
Objective
Secure the 10% target and transition mindset toward Phase 2. Remember: Phase 2 only needs 7% profit, so your approach will change significantly.
Position Sizing
If within 1-2% of target: reduce risk to 0.5% per trade. If you've already hit 10%: either stop trading or use tiny 0.25% positions to stay active while transitioning to Phase 2 mentality.
Mindset
You're transitioning from hunter to protector. Phase 1 is about reaching 10%, Phase 2 is about consistent 7% with much more focus on drawdown management. Start thinking differently.
If Ahead
If you've passed Phase 1: congratulations, but don't celebrate by overtrading. Phase 2's 7% target with the same 5% daily loss and 10% max drawdown rules requires a more measured approach.
If Behind
If you need 2-3% more profit, stick to your proven setups. The unlimited time limit means you can take perfect setups only. Don't compromise your standards when you're this close to success.
